A Dawsonville man is recovering at an Atlanta hospital following a motorcycle wreck Saturday afternoon on Harmony Church Road.

Dawson County Emergency Services Deputy Chief Tim Satterfield said James Dymond, 42, was unconscious and unresponsive when emergency personnel arrived about 2:30 pm.

"We treated him on the scene and pretty quickly got him in the air on Life Flight 2 [to Grady Memorial Hospital]," he said.

Robin Stone, a Georgia State Patrol spokeswoman, said Dymond was in a curve when he left the road and struck a raised cement driveway.

"That sent him airborne about 20 feet," she said. "The motorcycle continued to overturn and came to a final rest about 30 feet off the roadway.

"His injuries included facial lacerations and a fractured skull, but we know he is improving."

No other vehicles were involved and no one else was hurt in the incident, according to the GSP.

Charges are not expected to be filed.
