RIC Rack volunteers and a group of women from the Gold Creek community shared the spotlight earlier this month as winners of the Bowen Center for the Arts' annual Lunch at an Artful Table event.

Now in its fifth year, the Nov. 5 luncheon featured creatively decorated tables and a full course meal.

The two winning tables incorporated holiday season themes.

Designed by Evelyn Koch, RIC Rack's was awarded for Best Corporate Table for the "Recycled Christmas" ensemble.

The table was decorated with gifts, collectibles and trinkets from the RIC Rack Thrift Store.

The Ladies of Gold Creek won for Best Table with a design right out of the Dr. Seuss holiday classic "How the Grinch Stole Christmas."

Hanging from the ceiling, the Grinch in his sleigh overlooked a table of Whos who dined with teacups on their heads. Cindy Lou Who, or Jackie Somerville, as many know her, designed the winning "Grinch Over Gold Creek" table.

Other table dressings included a tribute to Georgia and Georgia Tech football, the Cat in the Hat and a colorful fall theme.

A quilt made by the Heart in Hand Quilt Guild was also raffled as a fundraiser for the arts center. The winner was Barbara Reynolds.
