Kemp hosting pre-inauguration celebration in Gainesville Friday

Governor-Elect Brian Kemp will visit Gainesville Friday evening as part of a statewide celebration tour ahead of his Jan. 14 inauguration.

Kemp, his wife Marty and local elected officials will be at the Gainesville Civic Center Friday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Community members can register for the free event online.

The event is one of nine celebrations statewide, including one in Columbus for military appreciation and another in Blakely for law enforcement and first responders.

The First Baptist Church of Dawsonville hosted its Vacation Bible School kick-off event on Sunday, June 5, complete with inflatables, a petting zoo, bluegrass music and a stunt show featuring a motorcycle and BMX bikes.
