Dawson County News gained a new salesperson earlier this month as Jennifer Richardson joined the team.

After a career in sales in the logistics industry, Richardson was looking for a change — a job that let her get to know the community around her and be a part of something meaningful.

As advertising account executive, Richardson will be responsible for working with local businesses on advertising campaigns and marketing programs, and helping them reach the dedicated local audience Dawson County News has grown over the years. Her role includes print and digital platform offerings for the Dawson County News and its sister newspapers, The Times and Forsyth County News.

But for Richardson, the job isn’t just about filling ad space. She also wants to make an impact in the community and help put Dawson County News at the center of what’s going on here.

“I want to grow the community and the business, as well as the paper’s involvement in the community,” said Richardson. “I want to make sure we’re promoting the community and the people in the community.”
