Homecoming queen and king crowned

Seniors Emma French and Corey Hammond were crowned basketball homecoming queen and king last week.

The ceremony took place immediately following the Dawson County High School boys varsity win over the North Hall Trojans on Jan. 27.

French is the daughter of Chadd and Amy French and is the manager for the boys' basketball team. She played volleyball and basketball and is a member of Jobs for Georgia Graduates.

She loves children, hunting and fishing and plans to attend the University of North Georgia and study criminal justice.

Hammond is the son of Kevin and Becky Hammond. He is a member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, plays football and basketball and runs track.

He plans to attend the University of North Georgia and become a personal trainer.
