On Monday night, Dawson County fire units responded to reports of a possible structure fire off Bailey Waters Road.
According to a press released from Fire Chief Danny Thompson, at 11:17 p.m. on Sept. 30, Dawson County fire units arrived on scene off Bailey Waters Road and found a 40x60 ft. detached garage fully involved in flames. The owner confirmed that all occupants and animals were out of the garage.
Dawson County responded with three engine companies, two water tenders, two med units and several chief officers, Thompson stated.
Personnel operated in a defensive operation to contain the spread of the fire. Several landlines were used to bring the fire under control, and a “water shuttle” operation was also used due to the lack of fire hydrants nearby.
Thompson stated that no firefighters or civilians were injured in the incident.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation but currently does not appear suspicious in nature.
