A fire Tuesday night destroyed a 6,500 square foot former bed and breakfast off Hwy. 53 in Dawsonville.

Dawson County Emergency Services Chief Lanier Swafford said that dispatch received the initial call of a structure fire at 86 Young Place around 9 p.m.

Upon arrival personnel reported heavy fire conditions in the attic and second story of the house, Swafford said.

The home was vacant at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time, according to Swafford.
