Be on the lookout for food, drinks and fun this weekend as the downtown area plays host to the second annual Dawsonville Music and Beer Festival.

The two-day event will be held Friday and Saturday in the parking lot and adjacent field behind the Dawsonville Municipal Complex.

Proceeds will benefit Camp Southern Ground, musician Zac Brown's program for kids with autism and ADHD, and the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame.

Doors open at 5:30 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Saturday. The musical lineup includes bands such as Across the Wide, Southern Accent and Kurt Thomas.

In its inaugural year, the Dawsonville Music and Beer Festival was an "off the hook" good time for Chris Thomas, who came from Ball Ground with friend Colin Denlea to check out what was on tap.

"We're beer enthusiasts, and we're glad to be here. We came to support local music and local events and cold beer," he said.

Tickets are on sale for both days, with prices starting at $10 for advance online purchases. Advance VIP tickets are available for $30 each. Two-day advanced tickets are available, as well.

At the door tickets will be $15 for one day and $35 for VIP. Two-day passes are available for $30 at the gate.

VIP tickets for Friday's show include special seating, meet and greet with Across The Wide, T-shirt, two free drinks and tours of the Moonshine Distillery and the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame.

VIP ticket holders on Saturday will also have the opportunity to meet Alex Hall and his band, along with having special seating, two free drinks, a T-shirt and tours of the museum and distillery.
