Those bored with ghosts and goblins can trade in their costumes for a little “Halloween Havoc” this weekend.

Universal Championship Wrestling is holding an event at 6:30 p.m. Saturday at Lakeview Center that will feature popular wrestlers from television.

Those include former WWE and WCW World Champion Lex Luger, son of Latino wrestler Rey Mysterio, Rodney Mack of WWE Smackdown and Reid Flair — the son of wrestling superstar Rick Flair.

Luger said he’s “looking forward to visiting Dawsonville for the first time.

“The goal of these kind of grassroots events is to go back and say ‘thank you so much’ to my fans,” Luger said. “I get to meet my fans that I never got to meet. It’s going to be a blast.”

The wrestling league’s vice president said the event will be family friendly.

“There’s not a lot of cussing,” said Ron Gossett. “You could bring your grandmother and not get embarrassed.”

Luger said family-friendly wrestling events are “ahead of the curve and the way of the sport’s future.

“The family wrestling concept has been missing from television for a long time,” said Luger, an Atlanta resident.

Part of the proceeds for the event this weekend will go toward the Dawson County Sheriff’s Shop with a Cop.

The annual program raises dollars to buy Christmas gifts for underprivileged children.

“Halloween Havoc” will be taped for several cable sports stations.

Advance tickets are $12 for general admission; $20 for ringside; and $45 for front row VIP seats. Those with VIP seats get to meet the wrestlers backstage.

To purchase advance tickets, visit www.universalsuperstars.com.

Tickets may also be purchased at the door for $15 general admission and $25 ringside. Children 5 and younger get in free with a paid adult.
