The Government Finance Officers Association has awarded Etowah Water and Sewer Authority with the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting for its comprehensive annual financial report, or CAFR. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of government accounting and financial reporting, and its attainment represents a significant accomplishment by a government and its management. In order to receive this award the authority has to satisfy nationally recognized guidelines and the CAFR must be rated proficient in all three categories judged by the Special Review Committee of GFOA and meet GASB regulations.
