Despite the less than favorable weather and the cancellation of the annual Christmas parade, the Dawson County Chamber of Commerce reports that the fourth annual Jingle Market was well received. Locals braved the cold rain to attend the market held inside the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame. Due to the rain, vendors that were scheduled to be set up outside near the Dawsonville Christmas tree and moonshine distillery were moved inside the museum so everyone could enjoy a warm, dry market place. In total, 17 vendors attended, selling everything from handmade wreaths, Christmas decorations and furniture to boutique clothing, toys and personalized gift items. “This was our fourth year hosting the market and we look forward to having it again next year,” said Melissa Mayton, chamber membership director. “We really enjoy partnering with the city of Dawsonville to kick off the holiday season.”
