The Dawson County Woman's Club will host its annual fundraiser, Giving Goes Glam, on Saturday at the Church of the Apostles on Hwy. 400 and Grant Road West.
The Sept. 10 luncheon and fashion show will begin at 11:30 a.m. in the fellowship hall, where participants will partake in a silent auction and mix and mingle event.
This year's theme for the fashion show is "Diamonds and Denim," and will feature a mix of both glamour and denim.
The silent auction prizes include jewelry, a two-night stay at Little St. Simon's Island and several themed baskets, such as a bird basket that includes a bird feeder and birdhouse.
There will also be door prizes, party favors and a raffle.
Club member Georgann Schmalz said there are great fashions at this year's show, and she is excited for the luncheon.
"It's always fun, and the food is always great," Schmalz said. "There will be cheesecake for dessert."
Dawson County Woman's Club is a non-profit service organization that serves the Dawson County community.
The funds raised from this event will help bolster the club's projects, which include aiding the Dawson County Library in the purchase of books and other materials, buying plants for the butterfly garden at Rock Creek Park, and assisting projects with RIC-Rack Food Bank and Thrift Store, the Dawson County Humane Society and other local and international projects.
Tickets are $30 and must be purchased ahead of time by contacting Bev James at beverlymorsejames@gmail.com.
