Dawson County Fire Marshal deputized at state capitol

Dawson County Division Chief/Fire Marshal Jeff Bailey was recently deputized in a ceremony held at the Georgia State Capitol.

According to a press release from Dawson County Fire and Emergency Services, Bailey was deputized on Feb. 4 by Insurance and Safety Fire Commissioner John King during a ceremony which deputized local fire marshals across the state.

Each Local State Fire Marshal must be qualified as a state certified inspector or investigator and meet all in-service training requirements to be selected as a Deputy Local State Fire Marshal.

As a Deputy State Fire Marshal, Bailey is able to perform state inspections of local businesses that are typically conducted by the state fire marshal’s office.

Chief Bailey has been with Dawson County Emergency Services since 2003 and served as the Division Chief/Fire Marshal since August of 2018.
