Dawson 400 Regal Cinemas set to reopen on Friday
Dawson Regal 400

The Dawson 400 Regal Cinemas off Ga. 400 and Hwy. 53  in Dawson County is set to reopen on Friday, Aug. 28 with new movie titles and increased safety precautions for moviegoers.

Movie tickets have been on sale through Regal Dawson’s website since Friday, Aug. 21 and the theater will kick off it's reopening with showings of classic movies and recent releases, including New Mutants, Jumanji: The Next Level, Interstellar, Jurassic Park and Lord of the Rings: Return of the King.

According to the Regal Theaters website, extra precautions will be in place to ensure the safety of both the theater guests and staff.

“Reopening plans include a wide range of new health and safety measures based on guidelines provided from the CDC,” the Regal website says. “The plan also includes safety measures based on feedback received from employees and moviegoers they have deemed most important for their return.”

Precautions include daily health screenings for all employees, a requirement that face masks be worn at all times by all employees and guests, a reduced theater capacity of 50%, and sanitizer dispensers mounted on the walls on either side of the main entrance. Guests will also be asked to leave two seats in between groups, every other register will be closed at the concessions stand, refills on large drinks and popcorn will be suspended, and vending machines and water fountains will be unavailable for public use.
