A plane involved in a fiery crash Monday in Lawrenceville is registered to a Dawson County man.

The twin-engine Beechcraft Queen Air that went down in a residential area about 5 p.m. is owned by Robert Peter Watson, Sr. of Scenic Overlook in eastern Dawson County, according to the Federal Aviation Administration.

Gwinnett Emergency Services officials said one man died and three others were injured in the crash.

The names of the pilot and the passengers have not been released pending next of kin notification, according to a spokeswoman for the Gwinnett County Medical Examiners Office.

Attempts to contact Watson were not successful Tuesday afternoon.

According to emergency officials, the plane crashed within about a mile of taking off from Gwinnett County Briscoe Field.
