On Sunday April 26, Dawson County’s Emergency Management Agency and the National Guard will open a COVID-19 testing site at Rock Creek Park.

“The State of Georgia has partnered with Augusta Medical for developing kits and laboratory testing,” a Dawson County press release said on Saturday morning.  “The site will start testing patients at 10 a.m. on Sunday, April 26, 2020 and remain open until 2 p.m. or until they have run out of kits.”

Patients can be tested in one of two ways, the release said. By first seeing their primary care physician or the Dawson County Public Health Department and be given a PUI number to report to the collection site with, or by going directly to Rock Creek Park and requesting to be tested.

All patients who are tested will receive results within 72-96 hours.

The days and times the test site will open will depend on the availability of test kits and will be posted on the Dawson County Fire and Emergency Services Facebook page and the Dawson County Government Facebook page, according to the release.

Patients can also call (706)344-3666 for the most up-to-date information about the days and hours of operation for the test site.
