The Gold Creek Market convenience store and Exxon gas station celebrated its first two months of business with a chamber of commerce ribbon cutting on Thursday.

The store is located at the busy intersection of Hwy. 9 North and Hwy. 136 in Dawsonville. Gold Creek Market opened on Dec. 2, and is open seven days a week from 5:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

"We were so excited to hear there was a gas station coming here I can't even tell you," Christie Haynes, chamber of commerce president, told the owner. "If you live north of town or if you live around here, there aren't many gas stations that serve this part of our community, so you were very talked about before you even got here in the most positive way. I know the community is very excited to have such a beautiful gas station."
