Officers from the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office stopped by Because Coffee on August 9 to have a cup and a chat with members of the Dawsonville community.

Citizens were invited to stop by the local coffee shop to ask questions of law enforcement officers including Sheriff Jeff Johnson.

Talk ranged from baseball statistics to whether or not the county was seeing a rise in crime, and from day-to-day police life to escape rooms, all accompanied with many laughs and some of the best coffee in Dawson County.

“We are excited about our partnership with Because Coffee to host these impromptu meetings. It presents another great opportunity for our community to meet with members of our sheriff's office,
said Sheriff Jeff Johnson. “Whether it is to learn more about sheriff's office operations, discuss concerns or just to say hello - we welcome the opportunity to meet.  We appreciate those who came out to our initial meeting. Knowing that we only had a few days to advertise, we are pleased with the turnout. It was an enjoyable morning of meeting new friends and neighbors.

“Our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, August 27 from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. We look forward to having our community join us.”
