The Dawsonville Christmas Parade scheduled for tomorrow evening has been cancelled, according to Dawson County Chamber of Commerce President Christie Moore.

The National Weather Service forecasts a 90 percent chance of rain Saturday with thunderstorms likely.

The tree lighting festivities will begin at 6 p.m. at the Georgia Racing Hall of Fame and will include photos with Santa, cookie decorating, mobile stuff-a-bear, balloon animals and hot chocolate according to the city of Dawsonville Facebook page.

The Jingle Market will go on as planned with all booths indoors beginning at 4 p.m., Moore said.

Festivities will last until 8 p.m.
