One of Dawson County's longest running golf tournaments is setting up to tee off once again.

The Dawson County Chamber of Commerce is hosting its 19th annual Golf Classic on Sept. 21.

The tournament will be held at Chestatee Golf Club.

"We are really looking forward to hosting this tournament once again," said Chamber of Commerce President Christie Haynes. "We hope business and community members will grab their clubs and join us on the course."

In addition to getting the opportunity to golf a personal best at Chestatee, golfers will also enjoy a few other games to keep the day interesting including a hole in one contest and dress in drag hole.

"It is fun to watch the competition between the teams of local leaders heat up year after year," Haynes said.

Awards will be given for first and second place gross and net, longest drive and closest to the pin.

Sponsorship opportunities are also still available for the tournament, Haynes said.

"Being a sponsor of the chamber golf classic is a great opportunity for your business to be seen by many of our community's decision-makers," she said.

Corporate sponsorships that include a team and hole sponsor sign are still available as well.

The chamber hosts the tournament each year to raise continued support for the programs they offer to members, businesses and the local community.

The tournament will begin with a shotgun start at noon. Registration will begin at 11 a.m.

An entry fee of $400 per team or $100 per individual includes lunch, practice range, awards dinner, green fees, golf cart and a gift bag.

For more information or to enter a team, call the chamber at (706) 265-6278 or visit www.dawsonchamber.org.
