A ceremony Thursday honored five individuals recently promoted to leadership positions with Dawson County Emergency Services.

“I am extremely proud of these individuals, what they have accomplished, and what they are going to accomplish for this department and the citizens of Dawson County,” said Chief Lanier Swafford.

Chief Magistrate Lisa Thurmond administered service oaths for Assistant Chief Danny Speak and lieutenants George Harbour, Ricky Rexroat, Kira Holbrook and Clint Lively.

“Each individual who was promoted has demonstrated leadership and expressed the desire to lead,” Swafford said. “Their personal development has included ongoing training, experience, and professional development.”

The qualifying process for officers includes a written exam and practical exercise to illustrate their proficiency and job readiness skills.
