With school starting on Friday, we're hoping all you shutterbugs will be sharing your back to school and first day of school pictures with us to be featured in an upcoming edition of the Dawson Community News.

"Each August, social media explodes as proud moms, dads and grandparents snap photos of cute kids dressed up and heading back to school," said General Manager Stephanie Woody.

Sometimes the photos are of little angels decked out in their favorite dress for the first day of kindergarten grinning from ear to ear, while mom hides behind the camera and wipe away the tears.

Then there are the photos of parents watching their high school seniors embark on their last year of high school before heading out to college and the real world.

"These are memories parents cherish and look back on year to year as they watch their babies grow up," Woody said. "We want to help celebrate these milestones."

Submit your back to school photos by email to editor@dawsonnews.com or upload them to our Facebook page. Be sure to include the child's or children's full names, ages, grades and schools.

There is no charge to submit photos.

All submissions must be received by Aug. 21 at 5 p.m. to be included in the Aug. 26 paper.
