The Dawson County Board of Commissioners will consider a new salary study at their upcoming voting session.
The county performed a salary study in 2015, and made only minimal changes to their salary structure.
The commissioners will hear from representatives from Management Advisory Group, which was awarded the contract after the RFP process in July.
The salary study’s goals, according to the presentation, are to “perform a compensation/classification study for all county positions, compare compensation to relevant labor markets/competitors, and ensure that positions performing similar work with essentially the same level of complexity, responsibility, and knowledge, are classified together.”
The study will look at roughly 332 position across 137 job titles, and will provide recommendations for bringing salaries and pay structures in line with best practices.
