The Dawsonville Downtown Development Authority is still accepting applications to award grants to businesses within Dawsonville that promote trade, commerce, industry and employment opportunities. The authority included a $25,000 grant opportunity as a part of its 2017 budget, and is accepting applications through the remainder of this fiscal year, which ends June 30. Applications are available at the Dawsonville Municipal Complex and the authority is expected to vote to award the funds during its May 8 and June 12 meetings, pending applications that are due to be turned in to the city before the end of the day on May 1 and June 5, a week before each development authority meeting.
