The Dawsonville Downtown Development Authority is once again accepting applications to award grants to businesses within Dawsonville that promote trade, commerce, industry and employment opportunities.
The authority has included the $25,000 grant opportunity as a part of its 2017 budget.
"It is an honor to be part of the grant process that will be available for the local businesses and future business owners of Dawsonville Downtown Development areas," said Seanie Zappendorf, acting chairwoman for the authority.
Guidelines for the grant and applications are available at the Dawsonville Municipal Complex.
The authority unanimously approved the application deadline for 2017 during its Aug. 8 regular monthly meeting.
Businesses who are interested in applying for the grant can submit their application through Sept. 5.
The authority will vote to award funds during the Sept. 12 meeting at city hall.
Previous recipients of the grant include Mill Creek Environmental, Soul Sisters Antiques and Home Décor and Outside the Line! Art Studio.
"I'm very pleased to see the recipients of the grant making a difference in our city," said Zappendorf. "We hope to continue to assist in the revitalization of the downtown area and see more businesses succeed here."
For businesses that are interested in assistance but do not qualify for the grant, there is the Dawsonville Downtown Revitalization Revolving Loan Fund. The fund is interest free for the first year and can also be applied for at the Dawsonville Municipal Complex.
