Application deadline approaching for Sawnee EMC Youth Scholarship and Washington Youth Tour programs
Sawnee EMC scholarship

Sawnee Electric Membership Corporation (Sawnee EMC) is accepting applications from high school seniors for the Sawnee Foundation Youth Scholarship program.

This program is open to children of Sawnee EMC members. To learn more about the scholarship program and download the application, please visit http://www.sawnee.com/roundup/scholarships.

In the past, the scholarships have been $4,000 per student. This is a one-time scholarship, not renewable. The deadline to apply for the scholarship is 5 p.m. Jan. 12.

Juniors and seniors can also apply for the Washington Youth Tour. Applicants must be 16 years old by June 1, 2018 and be able to commit to the tour June 7-14. Two deserving students will participate in a week-long trip to Washington, D.C. While there, they will get the chance to see the U. S. Capitol, as well as other major monuments and museums in the area.

The deadline to apply for the Washington Youth Tour is Feb. 9.
