Part of one local roadway remains closed due to damage from thunderstorms moving through the Dawsonville area, according to the Dawson County Sheriff’s Office.

“Steele Bridge Road on the Sweetwater Juno side is completely blocked due to downed power lines,” DCSO’s Facebook post stated.

DCN will provide updates on road closures as more information becomes available.

Storms are expected to continue in Dawson County and north Georgia through Thursday afternoon.

The National Weather Service previously issued an earlier flash flood warning and two tornado watches for Dawson and surrounding counties.
