Repeal Obamacare

The election results at the national level in November underscored the fact that people do not want government encroaching upon their individual freedoms. One of the most personal aspects of a person’s life is their decision regarding their health care needs. President Obama’s health care legislation compromised fundamental constitutional rights of citizens as well increase the size of federal government. The U.S. House’s vote to repeal Obamacare was a dramatic move to swing the pendulum back to common sense public policy in Washington.

Obamacare adds 159 new agencies, offices, and commissions to an already bloated federal government. A chart created by the Center for Health Transformation demonstrates the labyrinth of boards and bureaucratic offices that will be gradually phased in due to the passage of the legislation. The chart is available to view at:  www.healthtransformation.net.

The law threatens to increase costs for American businesses by more than $4 billion. Several major companies have already reported that the new law has cost them tremendously. AT&T, Deere & Co., Caterpillar, AK Steel, 3M, Valero Energy, and Verizon have been forced to make major budgetary concessions that will individually impact their employees and eventually their customers.

After the companies published their budgetary reports, several congressional Democrats decided to hold congressional hearings that would have amounted to show trials in an attempt to humiliate the company executives. But the Democrat plans were foiled when additional companies announced their losses. The Congressional Democrats were forced to admit that the dramatic impact on companies is a living, breathing reality.

Additionally, the Obama administration has threatened companies who dare to blame Obamacare’s new regulations and taxes as a reason for their higher operating costs with various means of federal regulatory leverage.

The law is so damaging that even several Democrats have introduced legislation to repeal part of the bill.

President Gerald Ford once stated, “A government big enough to give you everything you want is big enough to take away everything that you need.”
