Irony and justice

The irony of the lack of a will to reduce spending in Washington is just mind boggling.

The total income our government needs to operate this year comes to $3.796 trillion.

The most money that can be collected from all sources this year is $2.469 trillion.

That's a deficit of $1.3 trillion.

Add that $1.3 trillion to the Nation's Debt and a like amount each year for the next 4 years totals an additional $6.5 trillion.

My mind turns to goo trying to put this into some acceptable prospective. Does this bother you?

President Obama has gone over 1,100 days without a budget. Why I ask? The President and the Senate haven't the will to cut spending by even $1. They are paralyzed to do so.

They are afraid to make a budget and wish to keep the country in the dark about the seriousness of our dilemma. The state of the United States of America's financial condition is horrific.

It dwarfs that of Greece.

If one takes a closer look at the goings on in Washington, one can come to a simple conclusion. If anyone wants to cut costs in Washington, bad things happen to them.

Last month in Cartagena, Columbia, a local prostitute charged a U.S. Secret Service agent $800 for her services. The Secret Service agent thought $800 was way too much and he attempted to cut the price down to $30.

As ironic as this seems, the Secret Service agent appears to be the only person in Washington who is making an attempt to cut spending. . . . . and he got fired.

One just can't make this stuff up.
