Winter weather all but shut down Dawson County last weekend and there was no exception for the schools and sports across the area. Schools closed early on Friday in an effort to be sure all students and their families were safe and out of the way ahead of the arctic blast and between 2 and 5 inches of snow that fell. All of the Dawson County High School basketball teams were scheduled to travel East Hall High School for games beginning with the junior varsity girls at 4 p.m. on Jan. 6.
