Celebrate Memorial Day weekend, the ending of school, and the beginning of summer at the inaugural Splash Bash in Dawson County.

Dawson County Parks and Recreation will be hosting its first Splash Bash on May 29 at the Veterans Memorial Park pool.

The event kicks off the opening of the pool for the 2010 season and will offer the public a chance to enjoy water inflatables, vendors and regular pool access.

The event will be held during the regular public swim hours of noon to 5 p.m. on May 29.

On that day only, admission will be $5 per person and will grant admission to the pool and the water inflatables.

Family and individual season passes will be honored.

Don’t forget to bring a towel; you might get wet.

Regular admission fees will take affect for public swim on May 30.

Public swim fees are $3 per person, per day, $30 per individual season pass, and $100 per family season pass for up to five members of the same household.

Season passes may be purchased at the main office at Rock Creek Park from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday  through May 28.

Beginning on May 29, passes may be purchased at the pool during the public swim hours of noon to 5 p.m. Monday through Sunday.
