It was the second meet of the season for Head Coach Stephanie Morgan’s team. Their first meet was held on June 4 at Cornerstone School.

It was a bright, warm, sunny day last Saturday morning as swimmers, ages 5 through 16, participated in the well-organized event.

The meet was operated by volunteers, who did everything from keep time, to make sure all participants got into the “bull pen.”

Morgan commented: “Without the help of our parents we wouldn’t be able to run the meet. They did a fantastic job.”

Participating in the meet along with Dawsonville were the Cornerstone School and Hunters Chase swim teams.

The team will compete in four more races this summer.

The team’s next challenge will be on June 17 with a meet at Chattoochee Country Club at 6:30 p.m.

Saturday, the team will travel to the Frances Meadows Center, the Racers will follow that with the District Swim Meet on July 11.

The Racers last challenge of the season will come on July 18 at Hunter’s Chase.

Numbers are up this season, with more than 45 swimmers on the team.

Morgan is assisted by coaches Lyndsey Brown and Sarah Dare.

Swim board president for this year’s team is Jennifer Putlak.
