Racers keeping pace
Perform well at meet in Dacula

The Dawsonville Racers competed in a swim meet June 25 in Dacula.

Several girls had great showings at the meet, especially in the older age groups.

In the 15-18 year old age group, Lauren Dare placed second in three events, 100-yard freestyle, 50-yard backstroke, and 50-yard breaststroke. Dare also came in third place in the 50-yard free.

Placing very high in the same age group were Katie Gallamore with a third place finish in the 50-yard breaststroke, eighth in the 100-yard free, and 11th in the 50-yard free.

Courtney Hilchie touched the wall with a 10th place finish in the 50-yard free, fifth in the 100-yard free, ninth place in the 50-yard backstroke, and ninth in the 50-yard breaststroke.

The age group also saw Eve Perkins place eighth in the 50-yard back, 10th in the100-yard free, 11th in the 50-yard breast and 15th in the 50-yard free.

There were several swimmers in the 11-12 year old age group that finished in the top 10 in their events.

Rachel Mulberry came in fifth in the 50-yard free, seventh in the 50-yard breast, and seventh in the 50-yard fly. She also had a 14th place finish in the 50-yard backstroke.

Racer, Erin Gallamore, also had several good races. She finished sixth in the 100-yard free, ninth in the 50-yard back, 18th in the 50-yard free, and 13th in the 50-yard breast.

Other Dawsonville competitors in the 11-12 years olds were: Emma Perkins, 27th in the 50-yard free and 24th in the 50-yard back, Martinez Amo Belle, 30th in the 50-yard free and 31st in the 50-yard back, Lillie Duncan, 33rd in the 50-yard free and 30th in the 50-yard back, and Erin Jones, 38th in the 50-yard free and 50-yard backstroke.

In the 13-14 year olds, Brooke Dare grabbed fifth place in the 50-yard fly and 50-yard back, while placing sixth in the 100-yard free.

Bridget Gallamore, 13-14, placed fifth in the 100-free and 50-back, and seventh in the 50-fly.

Other top 10 finishers were: Abbie Hilchie came in fourth place in the 25-free for the 6 and under age group. Hilchie also finished in ninth place in the 50-free.

Also in the 6 and under age group, Brenna Kudlas came in eighth place in the 25-free and 12th in the 25-back.

Adrienne Hilchie, 10 and under, placed second in the 25-yard free, seventh in the 100-yard fly and 10th in the 25-back and 25-breast.
