Racers compete in Clarksville

The Dawsonville Racers girls swim team competed at the North Georgia Swim League Splash meet at the Ruby Fulbright Aquatic Center in Clarksville on June 15.

Head Coach Stephanie Morgan's team placed fifth out of nine teams with a point total of 393. The Jefferson Sea Dragons captured first place with 1,938 points easily winning the meet.

"Everyone is swimming great this year," Morgan said. "This year the times and strokes seem to improve every day. I was really pleased with how we raced on Saturday."

Eight and under Dawsonville Racer, Isabelle Kinsey, had a big day.

Kinsey captured first place in the 100-yard IM and the 25-yard backstroke for 40 team points. Isabelle also finished in second place in the 8-under freestyle. She was also part of the third place finish of the 100-yard Medley Relay team of Ella Siuta, Sarah Beth Osaben and Anna Mulberry.

To finish off a great day, Kinsey placed third in the 25-yard butterfly.

Other top 10 finishers for Dawsonville were:

Sarah Beth Osaben (10-under): 25-yard freestyle, fifth place; 100-yard IM, fourth place; 25-yard backstroke, eighth place.

Ella Siuta (10-under): 25-yard backstroke, eighth place.

Anna Mulberry (10-under): 25-yard butterfly, ninth place.

Lauren Dare (18-under): 50-yard freestyle, third place; 50-yard breaststroke, sixth place; 50-yard backstroke, fourth place; 50-yard fly, third place; Brooke Dare (18-under), 50-yard freestyle, sixth place; 50-yard breaststroke, fourth place; 50-yard backstroke, seventh place.

Taylor Barrett (18-under): 50-yard fly, eighth place.

The 14-under, 200-yard medley telay team of Martha Thompson, Lindsay Osaben, Kaylee Barrett and Hannah Moulder finished in fourth place.
