Kick-off the fall sports season at the inaugural Fall Sports Pep Rally hosted by Dawson County Parks and Recreation Aug. 19. Combined with August movie night, the fun-filled event will be held at the Veterans Memorial Park football field beginning at 6 p.m.

Concessions will be available for purchase along with activities for the entire family. Many activities are free and for only $5 guests may purchase an activity bracelet on-site that will allow them to participate in all of the activities. A free glow necklace will be given with each bracelet purchase.

From crazy hair and face painting, to dunking your coach in the dunk tank and celebrating around a bonfire, the event offers a little bit of everything. And it wouldn’t be a pep rally without someone showing up painted up in Tiger spirit.

So, "Tiger-ize" yourself and enter a contest to see who has the most Tiger pride. First place winner will receive a prize.

Activities will begin at 6 p.m. and end at dusk when the movie "Facing the Giants," (rated PG), will begin on a huge inflatable screen.

Movie admission will be free.

In the event of inclement weather, many activities will be moved indoors. Others are subject to postponement or cancelation.
