The Dawson County Kiwanis Club will host a 5K/10K race to benefit the children of Dawson County on Saturday, May 1.

The race will begin at the Dawsonville Municipal Complex on Hwy. 53 East.  The race will be a Peachtree Road Race qualifier for 2011.

Entry for the individual 10K race will be $20 before April 24 and $25 on race day. If a group would like to have a 4-person relay team then the registration fee will only be $15. The fees for the 5K race are $15 before April 24 and $20 on race day.

Only pre-registered participants will be guaranteed a T-shirt. Participants registering on race day will receive a T-shirt while supplies last.

Awards will be given for overall female and male winners in the 5K and 10K and to the top three in 5-Year increments starting from age 10 and under, all the way up to 70 and over. There will also be awards given in the 10K relay event.

Race day registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. at the municipal complex. The 5K, 10K and 10K relay will begin at 8 a.m.
