The Tigers soccer team overcame a slow start to beat Franklin County away last week.
"The pace of the game was terrible in the first half," said Coach Jed Lacey.
Alan Sanchez scored on an assist from Jake Alvarado at 31:07 in the first half. It was the only goal of the half for the Tigers on their way to a 6-0 win.
"We regrouped at halftime and the guys came out swinging. We came out and scored three goals in three minutes right off the bat. Now that was Tiger soccer," Lacey said.
Senior Jason Mays scored at 36:51 in the second on a Sanchez assist. Sophomore Dennis Pyetsukh scored the first of his three goals in the game at 35:40 on a Patrick Moody assist.
Pyetsukh would score again at 33:20 on a Sanchez assist and at 12:46 on a Nathan Blythe assist.
Sanchez finished out the scoring at 8:04 on a Pyetsukh assist.
Senior Ty Anglin earned his seventh shutout of the season in goal.
The Tigers moved to 10-2-1 overall and 4-0 in Region 7AAA play. They also remain No. 3 in the state.
Dawson County will face Banks County at 7:30 p.m. April 15 at home for senior night.
