Tigers win first game

The Dawson County Middle School boys' soccer team won its first game last Tuesday in Dawsonville. The Tigers defeated Gilmer County/Clear Creek by a 4-0 score.

 

Cole Edwards scored twice to lead the Tiger attack. Edwards scored on a corner kick and a penalty kick.

 

Adding goals for head coach Frank Brown's team were Eli Brown with a corner kick and Gunnar Armstrong.

 

"We played great defense, led by Mason Carr and goalie Brooks Fulford," said Brown. "We have a great bunch of guys."

 

The team is made up of both seventh and eighth graders.

 

Tiger eighth graders are Armstrong, Zach Reidling, Larry Florentine, Tyler Griggs and Chase Mullins.

 

The seventh graders are Brooks Fulford, Mason Carr, Sam Muenchen, Joshua Litherland, Bailey Reins, Eli Brown, Logan Hayes, Cole Edwards, Jacob Miller and Aiden Guest.

 

Dawson will be back in action Friday when the team plays host to Pickens County Middle School.

 

Fannin County Middle School will come to Dawsonville next Tuesday for a match.

 

Both games will kick-off at 5:30 p.m.
