The Dawson County Middle School wrestling team lost to White County by 18 points last Tuesday.

Head coach Thomy Edwards commented about the match: “We had to forfeit three weight classes, which are six points each. It cost the match.

“My guys wrestled really good. I have a young team but they work hard. Two of the wrestlers that have been doing really good are first time wrestlers. They are Tobie Lumpkin and Steven Mulkey.”

Lumpkin is currently undefeated with a 3-0 record in the 185-pound weight class. Mulkey is in the 170-pound weight class and is 3-1 on the young season.

“Both Tobie and Steven are going to be good for me this year,” said Edwards.

The team will travel to Towns County this Saturday for the King of the Mountain Tournament. Matches will begin at 9 a.m.
