The Riverview Middle School seventh grade boy’s basketball team lost to Lumpkin County, 36-12, last Saturday at Riverview.

The team is currently 0-1 on the season.

The Eagles were a horrendous 5 for 52 shooting for the contest, which led to a 14-5 halftime deficit.

Things didn’t get much better in the second half, as Lumpkin stretched the score to 25-5 after three quarters of play.

“I couldn’t have asked for more fight and effort from my guys, even though we lost, I’m proud of them. They’ve come a long way so far and although we have a long way to go, I feel that we’ll be alright as long as they keep their intensity up,” said Head Coach Corey Ray.

“We’ll continue working fundamentals.  We couldn’t find the basket Saturday. The shots just weren’t falling,” he added.
