The seventh grade Riverview Middle School Eagles were victorious over Pickens County last Tuesday, Nov. 18, by a 35-31 score.

The Eagles had to fight back, as they were down by 12 points early in the second quarter.

The Eagles had cut the score to two points by halftime behind the inspired play of Eagle Scotty Zadernak.

Zadernak led the team in scoring with 10 points.

“I was proud of my guys. Once they got over their first game jitters things started coming together,” said head coach Corey Ray.

The Eagles jumped on the Dragons in the third quarter, leading by 10 points.

Riverview was able to hold on in the fourth quarter to take home the 4-point victory.

“We still need to make a lot of improvement with our game if we are going to continue to contend,” said Ray.

The Eagles lost to Union County Friday, 37-25.
