The Riverview Middle School girls' soccer team worked very hard to prepare for its season opener.

The results were evident as the team opened the season with a 9-0 victory over Clear Creek.

Despite the game beginning slow, the Lady Eagles were able to work out some kinks and string some great minutes of soccer together.

During the first half, the Lady Eagles scored three goals and kept the Clear Creek team on defense for nearly the entire 30 minutes.

The defense, led by Mackenzie Kimbarl, played phenomenal to keep the Clear Creek offense scoreless at halftime.

In the second half, the offense turned it up.

The team scored six more goals.

Scoring for the Lady Eagles were: Rachel Rajczak and Emma Martin with two goals each, Ruthie Pittman, Alexa Elliott, Maggie Wright, Katie Clouse and Kimbarl each scored one.

Helping with assists were Wright, Rajczak and Clouse.
