Campbell Reed led the Riverview Middle School seventh grade boys' basketball team to a 34-28 win over Jasper Dec. 1.

Reed scored a game-high 17 points.

With the win, Coach Kevin Grigsby's team is 3-1 on the season. The Eagles will play at Lumpkin County on Saturday.

The game was close at halftime with Jasper holding a slim 13-12 lead.

Riverview turned up the defensive pressure in the third quarter and held the Dragons to three points.

On the offensive side Riverview exploded with 13 points to take a 26-16 lead that Jasper couldn't overcome.

"We started slow, but made some adjustments at the half," Grigsby said. "I'm proud of the way our kids can respond to different adjustments we make to exploit the other team's weaknesses and help to play to our strengths."

Also scoring for Riverview were: Ty Kyle-seven points; Tate Adkins and Bailey Jennings-four points each; and Payton Goodwin contributed two points.
