The Dawson County Middle School Tigers seventh grade basketball team lost to Fannin County 47-29 last week in Blue Ridge.

The Dec. 1 loss was the first of the season for the Tigers. The Tigers are now 2-1 overall.

Dawson County trailed 25-13 at halftime, but a strong offensive showing by the Rebels in the third quarter allowed the home team to build a 33-18 advantage.

"We didn't play well at all," said Head Coach Steven Moates. "We didn't do a good job of rebounding and shooting from the outside. Our post players have got to get more involved in our offense."

Parker Cantrell led the Tigers in scoring with 10 points.

Tigers scorers: Parker Cantrell - 10 points; Kolton Brumbelow - 7 points; Colin Glover - 5 points; Nick Murphy - 5 points; Joseph Cronan - 2 points and Austin Young - 1 point.

The Tigers will be back in action at 4 p.m. Dec. 8 at Clear Creek.
