Coach Jessi Crane's Dawson County Middle School soccer team remains perfect with a 7-0 record following a thrashing of Pickens County Middle on Thursday.

The Lady Tigers defeated Pickens by a score of 8-0.

Dawson County managed only two goals in the first half off the feet of Brooke Cagle and Lydia Blythe.

However, in the second half the Lady Tigers poured on the offense and scored quick and often.

Dawson County scored five goals within an eight-minute period to blow the game wide open 7-0.

Blythe scored the first three goals at the two, three and eight-minute mark. Blythe finished with four goals in the game.

Fellow striker, Cagle, also scored three goals in the contest.

"Both Brooke and Lydia played really well this afternoon. They are our top two scorers this season," Crane said.

Scoring the eighth goal for the Lady Tigers was Haley Greenway.

"We have a great team this year," Crane said. "They play well together and get along great. They build each other up and push each other to do better. The eighth graders show great leadership and set the bar high for our team."

The Lady Tigers will play two games this week, both will be at home. On Thursday, cross-county rival Riverview will be on tap. Earlier this season the Lady Tigers defeated Riverview, 3-1.

The regular season will close out with Clear Creek before tournament play starts on March 26.

This year's tournament will be at Dawson County Middle.
