Head coach Tina Brown's eighth grade girls basketball team from Dawson County Middle fell to visiting Pickens County Middle by a, 40-21, score last week.
The Lady Tigers got off to a poor start offensively in the Jan. 10 game and managed only two points in the first quarter.
Dawson County's offense came alive in the second quarter and cut the Nettes' lead to, 17-11, at halftime.
Pickens exploded for 18 points in the third quarter to climb to a 35-16 advantage.
The Lady Tigers couldn't recover and fell by a 19-point margin.
Brandi Jo Hafermalz led Dawson County in scoring with 10 points.
Following Hafermalz were teammates: Mollie Stanfield with five points, Lydia Blythe and Ashley Coker with two points each and Tatum Pruitt and Cassie McPherson added one point each.
"We lost 45-5 the first time we played Pickens," Brown said. "This score was good for us. I was really proud of our hustle today."
Dawson County will host Fannin County at 5:15 p.m. tomorrow.
