The Riverview Middle School girls' soccer team started the season off with a bang, winning its first game 5-1 over Fannin County Middle School last Tuesday.

Suzanne Eckert was the offensive star for the Lady Eagles, scoring three goals.

Kamilla Baron also had a great game on offense with two goals.

"Our game was a lot of fun and exciting to watch," said Head Coach Chris Lundy. "It being our first game, we were anxious to see how things were going to go. But, we are very pleased with our performance. I though Kamilla Baron, Morgan Callas and Suzanne Eckert played really well."

Lundy added, "Though we were pleased with the outcome, it was clear that we still have a lot of work to do."

Members of this squad are Taylor Shirley, Hayden Wilson, Kayla Schandera, Lauren Dare, Abbie Wasinger, Eckert, Hannah Cramer, Baron, Daisy Sarmiento, Storm Roberts, Allison Scott, Brianna Seay, Callas, Riley Cox and Heather McGarey.

Riverview will be at home against Jasper Middle School Friday, before traveling to Pickens County Middle School next Tuesday.

Both games will start at 4 p.m.
