The eighth grade Riverview Lady Eagles defeated Jasper Middle School, 31-27, last week.

Tabitha Morrison led all scorers in the Jan. 24 game with 13 points.

"This was a very physical game and our girls did a great job of maintaining their composure to lead us to a win," said head coach Rhonda Sillesky.

Riverview jumped out to a 17-7 halftime lead behind some strong defense.

Jasper stormed back in the second half, but just couldn't quite catch the Lady Eagles.

With the win, the Lady Eagles moved their record to 5-5 overall.

Lady Eagles scorers: Morrison - 13 points, Emily Queen - 9 points, Eliza Sillesky - 4 points, Heather Brady - 3 points and Katelynn Simpson - 2 points.

The Lady Eagles played Fannin County Tuesday afternoon, scores were unavailable at press time, before beginning the Mountain League Tournament on Thursday.
