The Riverview Middle School Lady Eagles' soccer team is heading into the Mountain League playoffs with tons of momentum.
Coach John Lundy's team completed the regular season with a pair of 10-0 wins over Jasper Middle School and cross-county rival Dawson County Middle last week.
The Lady Eagles won their ninth game in a row.
Riverview has yet to be scored on this season.
"My girls continued to play great and they are willing to share the spotlight with one another," Lundy said.
The team has scored 80 goals in mounting their 9-0 record.
Scoring goals against Jasper were: Rachel Rajzack with three, Katie Clouse, Maggie Wright and Mackenzie Kimbarl with two each and Piper Wright with one.
Each girl, along with Emma Martin, also recorded an assist.
The March 17 game against Dawson County Middle was played at Riverview.
Scoring for the Eagles in the win were: Martin with three goals, Rajczack and Ruthie Pittman with two goals each and Kimbarl, Clouse and Piper Wright with one goal each.
"Though not as flashy as a bunch of goals, our defense has played great in every game and should take a lot of pride in these shutouts. A few key players on defense include: Piper Wright, Kenzie Beatty, Alexa Elliot, Bailey Hurst and Kimbarl," Lundy said.
"As soon as the ball crosses midfield, our defense steps it up and makes our opponents drive not last long. The girls have done an outstanding job not becoming complacent and continuing to set goals for themselves."
Up next will be the Mountain League playoffs which began yesterday at Riverview Middle School.
The Lady Eagles hold the No. 1 seed going into the tournament.
