Eighth graders win third straight

The Dawson County Middle School eighth grade boys’ basketball team defeated Pickens County Middle School, in double overtime, 58-54 last Thursday.

  

The Tigers followed up with a 33-29 win over Jasper Middle School the next day.

  

With the wins, the Tigers stand at 8-5 on the season.

  

As of press time, the team was in third place, with one game remaining.

  

The Tigers played Pickens County Middle School Monday afternoon, scores were not available as of press time.

  

Dawson will participate in the Mountain League Tournament this weekend.

  

“My guys really battled back against Jasper,” said Head Coach Jonathon Tinsley.

  

“We came back from being down 18-3 early in the second quarter. We finally got the lead with 1:45 to play in the game. My team played hard,” he added.
